Graham Nash & Ann Wilson Slam Frankie Valli’s Supposed Lip-Syncing
90-year-old Frankie Valli has been going viral online, but not for any reasons he’s happy about. While the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” crooner has been on the road, performing and seemingly enjoying life, some fans have been growing increasingly concerned about his health.
In several videos, he appears to be lip-syncing his songs or almost falling off the stage. Valli even released a statement that said he was not lip-syncing, he was doing well and no one was forcing him to perform or tour.
In a recent interview, Graham Nash and Heart‘s Ann Wilson were chatting and Valli was brought up. Nash said point-blank, “Frankie Valli is not singing. He’s just lip-syncing badly to a tape. As a musician, if you’re not singing, you shouldn’t be onstage.”
Nash added that as you age, your voice will change and said that there should be no shame in that. He even brought up icon Joni Mitchell as an example of how a voice can change and fans can still enjoy the sound.
Wilson agreed with Nash and continued, “I think that’s the moment when you have to decide whether to walk offstage or not. You really have to look at your morals and go, ‘Do I just want to go up there and phone it in, give a bull@#$% performance because I’m me, or do I take the high road?’”
What’s your take on this situation? Do you think Valli is lip-syncing or not? Check out this video if you haven’t seen one yet:
